Ingredients:
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 c. apples, diced
1 c. sifted flour
1 Tbs. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Beat egg with milk, then stir in oil and apples. Combine dry ingredients, add to wet mixture, and stir until just combined. Drop tablespoonfuls of the batter into 1 in. or more of liquid shortening or vegetable oil heated to 365°. Fry for 4 minutes until golden brown and done in the middle, then drain on a paper towel.
Tip: Dip or drizzle maple glaze over finished fritters.
