Ingredients:
1 1/3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2/3 c. milk
1/3 c. maple syrup
1/2 c. melted shortening

Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Beat eggs in a separate bowl. Add milk, maple syrup, and melted shortening. Mix wet and dry ingredients together. Bake at 425° in greased muffin pans for 20 minutes.
