Ingredients:
1 egg
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. oatmeal

Directions:
Beat together egg and shortening. Add maple syrup, water, and vanilla, then stir until the mixture has a creamy consistency. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Combine wet and dry mixtures. Stir in oatmeal. Drop by the teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.
